EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK
This course is an HSE approved and nationally recognised Emergency First Aid at Work certificate, valid for 3 years.
Registration requirements – Identification i.e. driving licence, passport, photo ID card.

start time 9.30am – finish 4.30pm, allowing 1 hour for lunch and breaks this can be adjusted

This course follows the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) First Aid Regulations 1981 content guidelines and is a required qualification for First Aid personnel within the workplace.
Responsibilities of the first aider
Health and Safety Regulations and Record Keeping
Assessing an incident
Managing an unresponsive casualty
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Using an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
Chocking, Obstructed air-way and Breathing problems
Wounds and Bleeding
Burns (including acid burns)
Minor injuries and Major injuries
Certificates will be issued within 2 weeks of the course completion. Yearly First Aid refreshers are recommended by the HSE, but not compulsory.
Course attendance does not provide automatic qualification, there are several practical achievements that need to be met and completion and passing of a final written test.

About your trainer – Sarah Piper is an ex nurse and has been a first aider for over 25 years. She has completed a City & Guilds level 3 qualification in Education and Training and assessor course and delivers First Aid courses as an independent trainer and for training companies throughout the south.
