Meads Ladies just edged out by Hampden Park in a tight match

Result: Hampden Park 3 Meads 1

A local derby that began in bright sunshine with blue skies and ended in icy winds and flurries of rain saw Hampden Park secure a 3-1 win. At the half way stage the match was delicately balanced at one all. Lucy Parkin and Jessica Gisby were on fine form winning in straight sets whilst Mary Sherlock and Hazel Sneath were not quite able to match the consistency of their opponents  who made very few errors.

In the reverse doubles Sneath and Sherlock started impressively taking the first set before Hampden Park battled back to take the second and the championship tie break. Meanwhile Gisby and Parkin were involved in a tense, see sawing match that went all the way to an exceptionally close championship tie break. In the end it was Hampden Park who were celebrating winning the tie break 11-9 and the overall match 3-1.
