LTA FREE Parenting Workshops… Get Involved!

The LTA The aim of this workshop is to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to optimally support their child at tennis competitions. There are three online sessions available to book onto:

Competition Parenting Workshop – Online Webinar

The aim of this workshop is to provide attendees with the knowledge and skills needed to optimally support their child at tennis competitions.

This online webinar is designed for tennis parents with children between the ages of 9 and 14 years who have either just started competing or who regularly play in competitions. Attendees will be able to sign-on in their own home and interact with the tutor and fellow attendees via the online session. 

The 2 hour interactive Parent Workshop has been designed in partnership with Loughborough University to address the specific needs of tennis parents. The topics covered during the workshop will include:

–       Parents’ roles during tennis competitions

–       Children’s perceptions of optimal parenting behaviour at competitions

–       Supportive vs. pressurising behaviours: What is the difference?

–       Communicating effectively with children before, during and after a match

–       Managing the emotional demands of competition

–       Engaging in role model behaviours

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS WORKSHOPS WILL NOT COUNT FOR COACHING ACCREDITATION CREDITS OR OFFICIALS LICENCE CREDITS

Competition Parent’s Area

Take advantage of the LTA’s host of resources in respects to competitions. So, if you want to find out how you can help your child start playing competitions, what different tournaments are out there, and how to enter – then we have all the information you’ll need to get them going.

Tennis Parents Community

A peer to peer, supportive group for the parents/carers of tennis players of all abilities in Britain. A space for asking for advice, sharing experiences for the benefit of others, and exploring ideas, to enable the whole community to decide how best they can support their children whatever their journey in the sport. Prime Video LTA Youth Girls

Prime Video LTA Youth Girls is our girls only beginner’s tennis course, encouraging the next generation of girls to start their journey playing and loving our sport.

Delivered by trained LTA coaches, the six-week introductory course is packed with games and exercises to build confidence and skills on court, all whilst having fun with friends.

The course costs £35 for six sessions of coaching, as well as a t-shirt, tennis racket and tennis balls so they can keep practicing at home or at your local courts.
